If you're the kind of fish poker player then you can just hope to win, while a professional player simply seeks better odds of making his win in every game. A real player always needs strategies that can help him win any poker game. He is more or less concerned about his chances of winning and is very much upfront about the calculated pot size. This also refers to being in control with other players once you play the game. 

It is important for players to understand the correct time they are supposed to end the game. In fact, players should be able to master the art of pre-flop so that they can try and win the next round. If the player is disciplined then he might also be able to control all of his emotions even if he loses the hand. It is important that a player should indeed be able to learn lessons from the mistakes he committed in the last few rounds.
